Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 September 2026
01
Acceptance of Terms
By engaging Stacklane Ltd ("Stacklane", "we", "us") or by using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services or this website.
02
Services
Stacklane provides professional web development, website hosting, SEO, and maintenance services. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline and pricing for each project are outlined in a separate project agreement or statement of work agreed by you in advance.
03
Client Responsibilities
You agree to: provide accurate and complete information required for the delivery of services; respond promptly to feedback, approvals, or content requests to progress the project; ensure that any content, images, or materials you supply do not infringe the intellectual property rights of others; pay invoices within the agreed payment terms.
04
Intellectual Property
For custom website builds (Launch, Professional and Enterprise), upon receipt of full payment, ownership of the website code and design assets created specifically for your project transfers to you. Template websites are excluded from this transfer and are licensed as described below. Stacklane retains the right to showcase completed work in its portfolio unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any external libraries, frameworks, or plugins incorporated into your project remain subject to their respective open source licences.
05
Template Websites
A template website costs £149.99 for setup and light customisation of an existing design. This includes placing your content and logo, adjusting colours and typography, and a basic brand starter. The existing template layout is the starting point; additional bespoke work requires a separately agreed scope.
The first month of a care plan must be paid with the template setup fee. Essential Care costs £49.99 per month, giving an initial total of £199.98. You may instead choose Professional Care at £99.99 per month, giving an initial total of £249.98. Care continues at the selected monthly rate, subject to the hosting and maintenance cancellation terms in our Refund Policy. The free first month offered with custom website builds does not apply to templates. An enquiry does not take payment or place an order.
Stacklane retains ownership of its template code and underlying template design. You receive a non-exclusive licence to use the template for your own business website. You may not resell, redistribute or sublicense the template code or design. Your supplied content and logo remain yours. These restrictions do not override the separate licences of third-party libraries or assets.
06
Payment Terms
All projects require a deposit as stated in the project agreement. Remaining payments are due at agreed milestones or on completion. Late payments may accrue interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.
07
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stacklane's liability for any claims arising from the services provided is limited to the total fees paid for the specific engagement in question. Stacklane is not liable for indirect or consequential damages or loss of profits.
08
Warranties
Stacklane warrants that services will be performed with reasonable skill and care. We do not guarantee specific search rankings, traffic levels, or business outcomes from any service provided.
09
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any proprietary or business information shared during the course of the engagement, except where disclosure is required by law or otherwise agreed in writing.
10
Termination
Either party may terminate a service agreement with 30 days' written notice. In the event of termination, payment is due for all work completed up to the termination date. Any deliverables remain the property of Stacklane until payment in full is received.
11
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12
Changes to These Terms
Stacklane reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Any material changes will be notified to clients. Continued use of our services following notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
